3 Ways to Capture a Screenshot on Lenovo Computer
There are several ways of capturing screenshots on a Lenovo laptop or PC. Using these methods you can capture screenshots on different series of Lenovo devices.

Method 1: Capture the whole Screen
There are two ways for capturing the whole screen on your Lenovo device:
a) Press PrtSc to capture the whole screen of your laptop
Press PrtSc from your keyboard and your current Screen will be captured.
Now, press the Windows key, Type ‘Paint’ in the search bar, and open it.
After opening Paint, press Ctrl + V to paste the screenshot in the Paint image editor app.
You can easily make the changes you want by resizing or adding text in your screenshot in the Paint app.
Finally, press Ctrl + S to save the screenshot on your system. You can also save it by clicking on ‘File’ at the top left corner of the Paint app and selecting the ‘Save as’ option.
b) Press Windows key + PrtSc to capture the whole screen
If you want to take a screenshot by pressing Windows key + PrtSc, then follow these steps:
Press the Windows key + PrtSc from your keypad. This will capture the whole screen and will automatically save it on your system.
You can find this screenshot under C:\Users\Pictures\Screenshots.
After locating the screenshot in the Screenshots folder, you can right-click on it to open it with the Paint app.
In the Paint app, you can edit the screenshot accordingly.
Finally, save the screenshot by pressing Ctrl + S or click on ‘File’ and select the ‘Save as’ option.
Method 2: Capture an Active Window
If you want to take a screenshot of the Window that you are currently using, then you can follow these steps:
For selecting your active window, click anywhere on it.
Press Alt + PrtSc at the same time to capture your active window. It will capture your active window and not the whole Screen.
Now, press the Windows key and search for the Paint program. Open the Paint program from the search results.
In the Paint program, Press Ctrl + V to paste the screenshot and edit it accordingly.
Finally, for saving the screenshot, you can press Ctrl + S or click on ‘File’ at the top left corner of the Paint app and click on ‘Save as’.
Method 3: Capture a Custom Screenshot
There are two ways with which you can capture a custom screenshot:
a) Use Keyboard Shortcut to take a Custom Screenshot
You can easily use your keyboard for taking a custom screenshot on your Lenovo laptop or PC. However, this method is for users who have Windows 10 version 1809 or above versions installed on their systems.
Press the Windows key + Shift key + S key on your keyboard to open the built-in Snip app on your Lenovo laptop or PC. However, make sure that you are pressing all the keys at the same time.
When you press all three keys together, a toolbox will appear at the top of your screen.
In the toolbox, you will see four snipping options to choose from such as:
Rectangular Snip: If you select the rectangular snip option, then you can easily create a rectangular box over the preferred area on your screen window to take a custom Screenshot. Freeform Snip: If you select the freeform snip, you can easily create an outer boundary over the preferred area of your screen window to take a freeform screenshot. Window Snip: You can use the Window snip option if you want to take a screenshot of an active window on your system. Full-Screen Snip: With the help of a Full-Screen Snip, you can capture the entire screen on your system.
After clicking on one of the above options, you can click on the Windows key and search for the ‘Paint’ app. Open the Paint app from the search results.
Now paste the snip or your custom screenshot by pressing Ctrl + V from your keyboard.
You can make the necessary editing to your custom screenshot in the Paint app.
Finally, save the screenshot by pressing Ctrl + S from your keyboard. You can also save it by clicking on ‘File’ at the top left corner of the Paint app and selecting the ‘Save as’ option.
b) Use Windows 10 Snipping Tool
Your Windows computer will have a built-in snipping tool that you can use for taking custom screenshots. The snipping tool can come in handy when you want to take custom screenshots on your Lenovo devices.
Search for the Snipping Tool on your Windows laptop or PC. For this, you can press the Windows key and type ‘Snipping Tool’ in the search box then open Snipping Tool from the search results.
Click on ‘Mode’ at the top of the snipping tool app to select the type of custom screenshot or snip that you want to capture. You have four options to capture a custom screenshot on Lenovo computer:
Rectangular Snip: Create a rectangle around the area you want to capture and the snipping tool will capture that specific area. Free-form Snip: You can easily create an outer boundary over the preferred area of your screen window to take a freeform screenshot. Window Snip: You can use the Window snip option if you want to take a screenshot of an active window on your system. Full-Screen Snip: With the help of a Full-Screen Snip, you can capture the entire screen on your system.
After choosing your preferred mode, you have to click on ‘New’ at the top panel of the snipping tool app.
Now, easily click and drag your mouse to capture a specific area of your screen. When you release the mouse, the snipping tool will capture the specific area.
A new window with your screenshot will pop up, you can easily save the Screenshot by clicking on the ‘Save Snip’ icon from the top panel.
